Shou Lao (called Fukurokuju in Japan), an immortal known as the God of Longevity. He is also one of the three Star Gods, or Sanxing, and a symbol of long life, wisdom, and accumulation of knowledge, as evidenced by his bulbous, or sometimes elongated, head. The concept of longevity or immortality is further symbolized by the carved peach and also by his staff or walking stick.
